Description
A mostly savory roasted nut with whiskey and honey.
Ingredients
- 8 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2–3 tablespoons hot sauce
- 1/2 cup whiskey
- 1 tablespoon kosher salt
- 1 heaping teaspoon garlic powder
- 8 cups raw nuts (I used pecans, cashews and almonds)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 300F degrees.
- Put nuts in a large bowl; set aside.
- In a small saucepan, combine butter, honey, hot sauce, whiskey, salt and garlic powder. Stir to combine and bring to a bare boil. Simmer for 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat and pour over the nuts.
- Coat the nuts thoroughly and then pour nuts (and any remaining sauce) on a large rimmed baking sheet. Spread nuts into single layer and roast 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from oven and let cool completely before transferring nuts to a container. Eat within 2 weeks.
