Homemade Duck Sauce
Frozen egg rolls from Trader Joes + Homemade Duck Sauce that comes together in literally 2 minutes. This sauce is ridiculously good. I’m thinking it is going to make the best (and easiest) Super Bowl appetizer!
We’ve only got a few Sundays of left in the football season. If you’re anything like me, it’s bittersweet. I love how football dictates our Sunday pace- sllooooowwwww. It’s a lot of couch laying and food eating on football Sunday. It’s so nice to take a day to reset for what’s always a busy week ahead. But on the other hand I’m not going to complain when we can actually start making plans on Sundays if we want to. We’re kind of a slave to the NFL around here, what can I say?
Play-offs today, off week next week, and then the big game! At this point I don’t have any players in the game so am kind of indifferent about who wins today. Though I’d love to see the Patriots lose. Man I despise that team. But even if they win, I’m good with whomever makes it. Just want to see some great games. And eat well because it’s always about the food for me!
Since I’m constantly thinking about food, I’ve already starting thinking about our menu. Don’t lie, you have too! (Right?) I love doing mostly appetizers for the Super Bowl. It’s so much more fun to nibble and taste a variety of foods. That’s how I like it anyway! I want things to be easy, delicious, and easy. đŸ™‚
This Homemade Duck Sauce is just that: easy AND delicious! But it’s also super versatile. It literally takes 5 minutes to make. It is tangy sweet with just a little bite from the ginger. I love to serve it with cooked egg rolls (the easiest appetizer you’ll ever make….) but it would be just as good as a glaze on cocktail meatballs, a baste for turkey burgers or a grilled pork tenderloin, or as a dipping sauce for chicken fingers. Like I said, it’s super versatile!

Thanks for all of your great ideas and tips, Kelley! This Mountain Momma is super thankful! Dumb question: when you use as a glaze, do you bake the chicken/pork with glaze on?
I do! I usually use 1/2 before and during and then save a little to glaze just before serving!
Where is the recipe for the duck sauce. You wrote lots of stuff, but I couldn’t find the recipe.
It’s linked in the post a few times. I created it for Dixie Crystals. Here you go—> DUCK SAUCE RECIPE
