Crunchy Napa Slaw

A delicious slaw made with napa cabbage and a ginger dressing.


For the dressing:

  • 1/4 cup rice wine vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 clove garlic, minced

For the salad:

  • 8 cups shredded napa cabbage
  • 2 cups chopped sugar snap peas
  • 1/2 cup grated carrots
  • 1 cup chopped radishes
  • 1 cup sliced green onions
  • 1/2 cup coarsely chopped cilantro
  • 1/2 cup toasted slivered almonds


  1. Make the dressing first. Combine all the ingredients in a glass jar with a tight fitting lid. Use a fork or whisk to incorporate ingredients. OR put the lid on- making sure it’s tight- and shake to mix the dressing throughly.
  2. To make the salad, combine cabbage, sugar snap peas, carrots, radishes green onion, and cilantro. Toss with the dressing. Refrigerate for a few hours before serving. Just before serving top with toasted almonds.
