Anyone else digging on October? It is, hands down, my favorite month of the year. It’s where fall and winter collide and every autumn I fall in love with living in the mountains all over again. There is nothing more beautiful than when the mountains are ablaze with yellow aspens and snow capped at the same time. I spend as much time as I can outside all year long but October is magical and I want to do ALL the things outside!
If you’ve ever lived in the mountains than you know what I’m talking about when I say that October is all about layering and functional clothing! Cold mornings, sunny afternoons, chilly evenings. If you’re breaking a sweat or spending a long length of time outside you have to worry about sun protection and staying warm too. In a single day I might go for a morning hike and then work from home in my warm kitchen. If it’s a nice enough afternoon, the kids and I will hang in the backyard and multiple times a week I’m at the football field early evening waiting for practice to end and trying to stay warm. From days start to days end it is often a 20 degree temperature difference!
I’m all about clothes that are functional AND cute. I’m not a fussy dresser and like things to be easy but I also appreciate clothing that is well made and fits nicely. I’m also all about clothes that I can wash AND dry. Which brings me to today’s fall favorite: prAna’s fall hemp line. It pretty much fills every criteria I have when it comes to clothes and they’re ridiculously cute too. Win, win!
If I’m being completely honest, I didn’t really know what made hemp clothing so fantastic. I mean, I knew that I liked hemp clothing- I’ve been buying and wearing it for years- I just didn’t know what made hemp such an awesome product for making clothes. Does that make sense? Doesn’t matter- just keep reading. Or watch this video- Why hemp? 🙂
Let me show you what prAna pieces I’m loving on right now!
I have LIVED in these Cozy Up Pants since I got them a few weeks ago. They’re the first thing I grab for when all my laundry is done. They fit like a dream- just fitted enough- and they’re crazy soft. I love the cargo green color and how the ankles are tapered and the pants have pockets. I literally wore them 3 days in a row over the weekend!
For all of you that don’t believe me when I tell you hemp is soft, order the Cozy Up T-Shirt. It is the softest t-shirt I own. It washes so well and has just enough detail that it feels dressier than a regular t-shirt but still casual- my style in a nutshell! I have the shirt Heather Grey and it’s perfection.
Though my husband might argue, I don’t think one can ever have enough leggings. I added the Beaker Pant to my wardrobe and they’re fantastic. The leggings are an organic cotton/hemp blend. I appreciate the wide waistband and the flattering seaming detail that goes down the back of the legs. As with all the clothes in the hemp line, the Beaker Pants wash and dry beautifully.
Do you have a favorite sweatshirt? This Cozy Up Sweatshirt quickly became mine. t’s ridiculously soft, the color is gorgeous and the detail on the back is spot on. It’s so cute with leggings and also goes great with jeans and booties. I’ll be ordering it in multiple colors! (I’m loving on the mustard-y gold color!)
Even though I don’t get dressed up that often, it’s always nice to have something easy to grab out of my closet on the days when sweats aren’t going to cut it. The Yarrow Dress is just that. It’s definitely on the more casual side of dressy but it’s more than dressy enough for my needs! I have been wearing it with boots (and tights on cold days) but I want to try wearing it open with leggings, a fitted tee, and some ankle booties. The back detail is amaze-balls. It is so flattering!
A huge shoutout to prAna for sponsoring this post. PrAna sent me the clothes and I’m happily wearing them around town and telling everyone how much I love them. As always, all opinions expressed here are my own. I’ve worn prAna for years and wouldn’t share about a brand unless I thought it was worthy! As always, thanks for reading and have a wonderful week! xo, Kelley

Ummm…that dress. Those pants…that sweatshirt! Came to find a soup recipe and I think my grocery budget may go to clothes this time. Thanks for doing my fall shopping for me!
