Mojito Wine Spritzer
This cocktail recipe is the love child of a wine spritzer and mojito cocktail. The Mojito Wine Spritzer is my new summer go to. Light, refreshing and won’t compromise that rocking bikini bod.
Let’s just clarify a few things. First off, I don’t rock a bikini. And for that matter I never did. I sit here fully aware that the only thing I rock these days is a tankini and a super cute tie-dye coverup. Wine spritzers are a total old lady, country club drink yet my stuntman husband can’t get enough. Watching 6 and 7 year olds play baseball 2 times a week means cocktails in water bottles is mandatory.
A few months ago I did a girls spa trip with a friend of mine to the Red Mountain Resort and Spa in St. George, Utah. The weekend was filled with hiking, spa treatments, meetings with wellness coaches and, of course, healthy eats. One of my favorite things I had that weekend was their (much lighter) take on the mojito. It was more like a wine spritzer but so refreshing and (mostly) guilt free. This drink is based from that. For the last few months I’ve been digging wine spritzers and drinking them makes me feel like a much older version of myself. Even my brut of a husband digs them.
Since it’s the time of year where we have just about every meal outside (if we even remember to eat at all) you’ll almost always find us with cocktail in hand and it’s usually white wine. White wine + summer just go together, don’t you think? While the kids down their sparkling lemonade, the adults sit on the porch sipping on something a little stronger. Since I’m not a huge drinker anymore (just one more thing to add to the “I can’t rock it anymore” list), this wine spritzer is right up my alley.
Pretty soon I’ll have coiffed hair, be wearing pearls and take up mahjong if I’m not careful.
If you know my husband you’ll know that I’m not that far off when I call him burly. Or a meathead. He’s all man and wouldn’t be caught dead ordering a wine spritzer in a bar. But at home, behind the closed front door, they’ve become his drink of choice. And now that I’ve just outed him on the blog maybe he’ll start owning it.
Or maybe not.
This is perfect make ahead drink and you could totally make a big pitcher and serve it at a BBQ. Don’t be afraid to double the recipe and fill a water bottle. This was a hit at little league baseball last night. Just saying.

Kelley, I’ve not wanted to admit this, especially to my wine purest friends and family, but I started making wine spritzers a few months ago as a way to enjoy a glass of wine without all the calories (and so I wouldn’t immediately fall asleep after dinner). This version looks fantastic and I’m definitely adding this to my cocktail list. 🙂 Love!
I’m so glad I’m not alone. Wish we were closer and we could enjoy a spritzer together!
Pinned that one. Thanks Kelley.
You’re welcome! We’ll have to enjoy a glass of wine together soon!
I want 10 of these right now!
Gotta be honest, this is something that I never would have thought of making, but you make it look and sound so good. I might have to make one for my wife so I can try a little for myself.
I wish it was socially acceptable to drink white wine all hours of the day, all summer long. Love that you put it in a water bottle! Totally doing that asap.
I was recently in Spain and the drink of choice for the locals is red wine with lemonade. Everyone drinks it, and has become my drink of choice. It is amazing, it is served cold with ice.
That sounds incredible!
I love a good wine spritzer! They’re so refreshing and light which means you can enjoy them without all the guilt. Thanks, Kelley!
Mint is in season… So, i’m adding this to my round up!
