Thai-ish Cafe Latte + Keurig Review
Along with my 30 Day Sugar Detox last month, I gave up my morning cup(s) of joe. More specifically, I gave up caffeine. Was it hard you ask? Let’s just say giving birth to my boys sans the drugs was easier. Or at least it was quicker. Both my boys labors were a matter of hours. The headaches and cranky attitude from lack of caffeine lasted 3+ days. But now that I’ve been over a month with no caffeine, I’m not missing it a bit. In the morning that is. I still need a mug of something warm when I wake up but now it’s either herbal tea or a cup of decaf to start my day. I alternate throughout the week depending on what I’m in the mood for. I drink my tea as is but I like my coffee heavy on the cream and sugar. What can I say? It’s always been that way and I’m a creature of habit. So even though I don’t miss my morning jolt, I do crave a cup of the hard stuff in the afternoons. Blame it on after school schedules, a busy morning or that afternoon blood sugar drop, I love a hot cup of joe to accompany the always present piece of chocolate. Tell me I’m not alone.
Since I’m the only one in our house that drinks coffee, brewing a pot is not an option- too much hassle and, quite frankly, I’m lazy. Enter one of my favorite kitchen appliances: the Keurig Mini Plus. It’s the answer to my afternoon fall off. It makes a quick cup of coffee and virtually no clean up. I can have a cup in just minutes, sipping on hot coffee and nibbling on a piece of dark chocolate. I love that it doesn’t take up much room on the counter and that I can make regular, decaf, hot chocolate, tea… you name it. K-cups have you covered in all areas of the hot beverage department!
As of late, this Thai inspired coffee drink has been my go to. It’s sweet, a touch spicy and the perfect afternoon pick me up. While not a recipe per say, this is a guideline to a really great cup of Joe.

This sounds like the perfect afternoon pick-me-up. And I feel warm and fuzzy inside just reading that list of spices.
It’s been my go to with this cold weather we’ve been having. Hopefully it will warm up soon and I can make it iced!
This sounds so good! And I just found a can of sweetened condensed milk in my pantry that I was wondering what to do with – love the idea of adding it coffee!
I LOVE sweetened condensed milk in coffee. Try it and let me know what you think!
You brave woman, giving up caffeine. I commend you..I have absolutely no desire to give up my morning caffeine (spoken like an addict). In fact, I’m going to sleep now so I’m even closer to my favorite smell 😉
Thanks for sharing. A nice cup of coffee seems to always complete the day. Good post.
With your post, I am inspired to try this new recipe now! Sound amazing to me!
