The Goods
I don’t do being injured very well. I mean who does? But for real, being hurt blows. There is on way to sugar coat it. I’ve been nursing a bum shoulder for a few months and it just won’t heal. I had an MRI on Monday and crazy enough it showed that I have a bone contusion in my humorous. First off, who knew you could bruise a bone? And secondly, how does one even do that? And thirdly and most poignant, how in the heck did I do it without knowing? So now I begin a month of taking it easy. And commit to clean eating so I can help with the extra inflammation and I’m taking a bunch of Chinese herbs that taste like earthy nastiness. I’m going to be as mellow as my psyche will allow and hope that this heals quick. Like I said above, I don’t do being injured very well.
Good thing my legs work just fine. They’re carrying up the mountain and back down on an almost daily basis. I can chase after my kids and run with the dog. For that, I’m grateful.
Only one episode in I can tell you that this is going to become a favorite.
It took me 50 + pages to get in but I’m loving it.
I just ordered this cookbook.
My little guys are so excited about halloween this year. I have one going as a Wild Kratt brother and the other as a zombie football player. What should Mountain Mama be?
I’ve never been one to do cutesy food but how cute are these Halloween teeth? And not all that terrible for you either.
I love this. And I couldn’t agree more.
I went to the farmers market yesterday hoping to pick up some plums and crossing my fingers for peaches but no avail. The cold weather is here and it might be time to switch my focus to apples!
I love fall recipes. Bring on the comfort foods. How gorgeous is this chili?
And this might as well be the poster child recipe for comfort food.
A great savory pumpkin recipe!
And seriously. I swoon. Comfort food in a mug. It’s just too good.
Every fall when the weather changes, I battle allergies that eventually turns into a sinus infection. Determined NOT to go on an antibiotic, I’m fighting it naturally.
#1: As seen in the ultra sexy photo above, I have a cotton ball with a drop each of Eucalyptus, Melaleuca and Basil essential oils.
#2: No dairy for me for a few weeks
#3: This herbal sinus remedy once a day.
Here’s hoping I keep the sinus infection at bay!
And lastly, our beloved girl had a small surgery this week. She had a tumor removed on her belly, an abscessed tooth pulled and an eye growth shaved off. She’s been pretty mellow the last few days (no cookbooks or the like eaten and torn up) while she recovers. Good thing she’s got a snuggle bug to hunker down with.
Have a great week everyone!! xo

Take care of yourself. I have the same problem and feel miserable.
Oh man! I’m glad you can still hike, but what a bummer that you’re falling apart at the seams 🙂 However, I have faith in you, you’ll come around. I almost stopped at the farmer’s market yesterday for peaches. Good thing I didn’t, we’ll have to get together and share our apple war stories soon. XO feel better mama.
