The Goods
Would it be weird if I changed the name of the blog to Mountain Mama Loves Her Dog Nacho. Because I’m obsessed. I forgot how much I love having a little one around. In fact, I want like 8 more. (That’s the crazy talking…) but I just really, really REALLY love puppies and their distinct puppy breath and the snuggles and the playfulness and playing tug-o-war and, and and…. Not only has Nacho stole my slippers, TWO phone chargers and more socks than I can count, she’s also stolen my heart. I’m a goner.
I made a version of THIS + a quick napa cabbage slaw last night for dinner and it was amazing. Bonus points for it taking less than 20 minutes.
THIS has been on my “to make” list for over a year. It’s finally happening this weekend.
I’m digging the winter salads. THIS one is simple perfection.
Are you staying hydrated this winter? THIS and THIS should get you motivated- especially if you’re one of those I don’t love water people.
Pure comfort never looked so good: THIS is the quintessential winter dinner.
I was gifted a few cookbooks over the holidays. I got the recommendation for THIS one from my friend, Letty. I can already tell that it will become one of my favorites. And THIS is just as much about the stories as it is the recipes. Their blog is wonderful too.
I got a fitbit for Christmas and I’m digging it. Some days I barely make my 10,000 steps so it’s time to step things up! (Literally)
My uncle gave me THESE for Christmas and I have used them SO much in the kitchen. I don’t know how I didn’t have these before. (He’s the BEST gift giver.)
I got a gift certificate to Nordstrom from my in-laws (they’re the best!) and I’ve been shopping online for almost a week now. How cute is THIS? And even though it’s not the season, I think I have to have THIS.
My CURRENT READ. I’m loving it. Next up? THIS.

I don’t want to give Chubby a complex with all the Nacho love and what would The Goods be without a weekly Chubbs photo? She loves playing ball more than anything (besides maybe bacon) and it’s all the better when the ground is covered in snow!
Have a good one! xo, Kelley

Those vinyl bowl covers!! Every time I use plastic wrap I curse and think why don’t they make shower caps for bowls… and THEY DO!!! I honestly had no idea they existed – fantastic find!
Love the new baby (and that you named her Nacho). Couldn’t agree more about puppy breath.
So darn cute. Love dogs.
Your pup is adorable! Also, thanks so much for sharing that slow cooker Thai chicken soup! I always crave that soup from a local Thai place during the winter. So cool that I can make it now!
I love the picture of your two dogs together! We have an 8 year old chocolate lab and for years I told my husband I wanted “a big one and a little one” (our chocolate lab and a chocolate lab puppy to go with him). We ended up adopting a basset hound about 8 months ago so I kind of got my wish for a big dog and a little dog. We love them both!
I need to get on your used book hand me down list. I wish I had the Burnt Toast book right now.
I’m glad you now own my fave cookbook of all times–I have both the old and new editions!!!
Love the pictures of your pup! We have an 8 yr old Chocolate Lab that has had my heart since day one!
Love your new addition…and your old first love. And I LOVE puppy breath.
Your puppy is so adorable! And I wore that cardigan from Nordstroms yesterday:) Love it! Their free shipping gets me every time!
I’m doing a Nordstrom order today!
The Husband’s Secret is a great book!
