Easy Balsamic Vinaigrette
There are a few a lot of things I won’t buy from at grocery store. I think the two biggest offenders though, are bottled salad dressing and canned frosting. Both so easy to make and you just can’t compare the two alongside a homemade version. Canned frosting has to be the biggest scam on earth. I get the heebies just thinking about it and as far as I’m concerned, it should be banned from man kind. But were here to talk about dressing today so let’s move on.
Bottled dressing just doesn’t make sense. It’s made with ingredients you can’t pronounce, loaded with sugar and it’s one the easiest things to make at home. So at the risk of sounding like the food snob that I am, will you please stop buying dressing in a bottle and try to make your own? I promise that once you do, it will be hard to go back.
Balsamic vinaigrette is a favorite around my house. I make it often and since I’m cooking for clients all week, I made a big batch so they could have it in their fridge. Making dressing in the blender is EASY. And I repeat, EASY.Through everything in, hit blend and voila, you’re done. Store in the fridge in a mason jar or tupperware or better yet- rinse out a bottle of store bought dressing and it should keep up to two weeks.
We’ll save canned frosting for another day. Just promise you’ll stop buying that too.

My favorite kind of dressing!
Great recipe and wow what a background!
We started making our own dressing 6 months ago (thanks to you). We started adding extra fun ingredients like Jalapenos and Blue Cheese. I wont ever go back.
Now we need a good frosting recipe so we wont buy store bought frosting ever again 🙂
Just don’t put your contacts in after you cut the jalapenos……………
That photo with the mountains is the background is breath-taking. What a great recipe, too!
Thank you! It’s the view from my front window!
I’m making this next week. I’ve been on a major salad kick and LOATHE store bought dressing entirely.
Plus, I’m a sucker for vinaigrettes.
Hey Kel! I thought I’d let you know that I made this tonight at the last second, realizing I had no dressing on hand. I’d printed it months ago, and finally made it. It was the perfect finish to a salad of garden fresh greens, tomatoes, green peppers, cucumbers, feta and chicken sausage. Thanks, mama!
You’re so welcome! Glad you’re making and enjoying the recipes! xx
Okay, the dressing looks great, but what about the frosting, do you have a recipe?
